Animal Print, Pink, & Picture Day?!

This is a long lost blog post that I came across. Totally finished but just never posted. I love, love, love, this outfit and did use pieces of it for my first picture day last school year. Take a trip back through time with me on this one... Before a pixie cut and baby bump!...

This very well may be the outfit I choose for my first "picture day" as a teacher. Minus the scarf for the picture. I really loved this outfit! Shout out to ebay for this wonderful animal print skirt from Loft. A+ for style, comfort, and compliments. You did me proud, lil skirt!

And that's all I have to say about this one. Lol. :)

Oh hey, nails that everyone thinks are black but weren't supposed to be... I'm bitter.

I love the stud detail on the shoulders and the cross over front. It adds so much pop to a simple blouse!

My all time favorite cardigan that I scored at TJ Maxx last winter. I promise I didn't make Stefan drive me to the store in a snow storm to go buy it. HA! I tried.... but he wouldn't go for it. I did get it the next day, though. #memoriez <- with a 'z' because I'm being funny. Or trying to be.

Pencil Skirts & Button Down Shirts

Dressing like a professional working woman has slowly become one of my goals for this school year. Something about dressing the part makes me feel like a top notch teacher even though I can honestly admit, it's true what they say. No matter how badly you want to know what you're doing- you don't. There are so many curve balls and every day is a new lesson learned and a new strategy test drive. It has to be that way in order to learn how to be the best.

On the days that I want to go home and drink a glass of wine by 11:00am,  looking like a professional helps me feel like a professional and therefor it's like I can trick my brain into thinking I've got it all figured out. Nice "work" clothes aren't cheap. Thank God for hand-me-downs. I have just about no extra time for shopping, and when I do.. I'd rather fall down on the floor and stay there until I have the energy to move again. HA! Teaching isn't a nightmare. It's fabulous. But when you put your whole self into it, it's easy to get lost.

Goodwill has always been my friend and she hasn't disappointed lately. I've made a few quick stops the past few weeks and scored some pencil skirts and button downs from banana republic, gap, and the limited. eBay has also been my friend lately. Winning a bid on a skirt for 3 dollars or less with a couple bucks shipping? Holla! Ballin on a budget. Last, did you know people sell clothes on insta? Wives, don't tell your husbands... It's about to be game over. People post pics of clothes they don't want and you can snatch them up! It's incredible. Scroll through my feed..."cute baby," "woah beautiful scenery," "aw I miss her," "THAT SKIRT IS MINE!"

I hope to start posting my OOTDs for any student teachers or working ladies out there. Until then, here's a look at one of my second hand outfits.

Falling For Fall

Today was the first day that I felt that it was cool enough to the point that I was able to dress as though it were fall. So obviously I went ahead and did it up.

A new obsession of mine is Tori Kelly's big, voluminous, gorgeous curly hair. I did my own short hair "mimic" of her style by using my waver from revlon. I think I'll be styling it this way for the fall!

My afternoon consisted of thrifting with two good friends, followed by a wonderful lunch date with said friends at a newly opened Italian cafe in town. The food was so delicious. I nearly slipped into a food coma. My nails, however, needed some serious attention so I got them done instead. This outing ended after I picked up some goodies at the craft store and made a "fall" wreath for our front door. It's almost done... I just need to find a bigger "T." That mission is for another day. Now hubby and I are off to the movies to see "If I Stay" for a Saturday night date. I still get butterflies when he asks me on a date. It's pretty cute. ;)

Hope everyone enjoyed this beautiful Saturday in September!
