Well, keeping up with bumpdates clearly didn't go as well as I had intended.
So much has happened since my last post! We have heard baby's heartbeat many times and we got to see our sweet baby on an ultrasound. I am in love. It's so crazy that I can love a tiny little person so much, especially when I haven't even been able to meet him or her yet!
Baby moves a lot and I feel kicks constantly. I love to poke my belly and feel baby poke back. It's also precious to me when baby hasn't been moving and I just happen to rest my hand on my shelf of a belly and baby starts to move. I especially love it when Stefan does the same. It makes me feel like baby knows we are mommy and daddy and wants to say hello :)
It's amazing how much my heart feels for my little family. I knew I loved Stefan but I never realized that I could ever love him any more than I already did. Hearing him talk about me and our baby makes my heart soar. I appreciate him more every day. He will be so great and I can't wait to witness it in a few short months!
So here is the scoop as of late:
How
far along: 27 weeks and five days || almost to the 3rd
trimester!
Size
of baby: cucumber {15 inches, 2.2 lbs according to WTE}
Must have items: I
can’t get enough sparkling grape juice lately –I call it my sparkling sparkling
and Stefan laughs at me every time. Lol!
Cocoa butter – not
because I’m worried about stretch marks but to help with the dry itchy belly!
My boppy full body
pillow.
My ABH contour palette
{my face has definitely been blessed with some extra lbs… hahah gosh}
TUMS… equate brand
though because I’m a money saver.
Total weight
gain/loss: Eeek! I went down in the first trimester but I sure made up
for it in the second! I’m up 20 or so pounds at this point… but really, who is
counting?!.... besides my Doctor…
Maternity clothes: A
teacher I work with gave me some jeans and some dressier pants to borrow…
seriously so nice it made me cry. I’ve purchased some maternity jeans, a couple
dresses/skirts, and some tops but really I’ve mostly been reworking my own
wardrobe. SO glad leggings are a thing right now.
Sleep: Oh
sleep, how I love thee. I wake up during the night to use the restroom and toss
and turn quite a bit but it’s not been horrible. Sleeping on my side was
starting to really bother my hips and back but I bought a boppy fully body
pillow this past week and it has been amazing. I LOVE it and it already is well
worth the money in my opinion. I did get mine on sale at babiesrus and I used a
gift card one of sweet students gave me for Christmas so I paid next to nothing
out of pocket but I would’ve sooner had I known how much comfier it would make
my sleep. I love that it can be used in different ways!!
Challenge of the
week: Three words… Glucose Tolerance Test. Haven’t received my results yet
and hoping everything went well! Also, I’m measuring ahead which has me a
little riled. I’m excited to meet baby but the thought of our sweet one coming
early is nerve-wracking as is giving birth to a hog baby. LOL! My Doctor
believes that baby may have been just chilling in a funny spot so we’ll keep on
eye on that at the next appointment and go from there.
Comments: "Wow
you really look pregnant now.” “I can’t decide if it’s a boy or girl based on
how you’re carrying.”
Best moment this
week: Celebrating the holidays with my hubby knowing next year we will be a family of three :)
Symptoms: Frequent
urination, pressure, baby kicks and flips, heartburn/acid reflux
Food cravings: I
went through a sweets phase but that has passed. Basically as long as my belly
is full I am happy.
Food aversions:
red meat.
Emotional Moment of
the week: They never stop.
Story One. Stefan went
with me for my glucose test but he had to work after so we drove separate. When
we were leaving, he turned left at the light to go to work and I continued to
go straight to go to the store. When his truck disappeared from my sight I LOST
IT. Full blown emotional breakdown because we were going different directions and
I couldn’t see him anymore and I just wanted him to be everywhere I am at all
times for the rest of eternity.
Story Two. I went to the
Mcd0nalds drive thru for breakfast. Drove away. They didn’t give me the hash
brown I ordered. Game over.
Story Three. There is a song we've been loving. My heart can't.
Story Three. There is a song we've been loving. My heart can't.
Fears: Failing
my glucose test. Whatever is causing me to be measuring big. Baby coming before
we are ready. Delivering without medication is starting to scare me more.
General
Mood: Happy! When I feel a certain way though I feel it ten times
over.
Gender: Still
not finding out!
Labor signs: Nope.
I think I’ve had Braxton Hicks contractions a few times.
Belly button in or
out: It’s just kinda hanging out in between. It’s just there. Lol!
Things I was
surprised by: How quickly the 2nd trimester went!
What
I miss: Being able to sleep on my back and belly. Deli
sandwiches. Being able to switch positions without feeling the need to grunt
from my lack of belly muscles.
What I'm looking
forward to: Celebrating baby. Taking some classes at the hospital.
Getting our crib bedding in the mail. Finishing the nursery. Picking out take
home outfits. Meeting baby in just over 12 weeks!
Baby
Movement: This child never stops it seems!
Bump: Oh
yeah!
Milestones: Baby’s
over two pounds and longer than a ruler!
What I think is really cool and crazy: Baby
can hear quite well by now. I’m pretty sure he or she has a favorite song right
now. Every time I sing it baby goes nuts!
